The Ignite Foundation began informally in 2010 as a collective of young people passionate about youth empowerment. Officially launched in 2016 and legally registered as a society in 2021 (Reg. No. KKD/CA/164/2021), Ignite has grown into a national platform nurturing changemakers. Over the years, Ignite has implemented more than 1900 capacity development programs across 8+ Indian states, engaging over 95,000 young people. Key milestones include the launch of the School for Social Transformation in 2021, recognition by UNESCO-APCEIU in 2022, piloting Changemaker Education for adolescents, and inaugurating Changemakers Ashram in 2024. Ignite Foundation has built a strong foundation of experiential learning programs for youth leadership grounded in values of active citizenship, sustainability, and equity.
